JAKARTA, KOMPAS \u2013 The government's policy of opening an additional coal export quota of 100 million tons this year has received attention from a number of parties. The policy should still pay attention to accountable governance and appropriate mining practices.<\/p>\n
The government hopes that there will be an additional 1.5 billion US dollars in foreign exchange from the additional export quota. Increasing the coal export quota is one of the steps taken by the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) in an effort to increase foreign exchange while reducing the current account deficit.<\/p>\n
