The Indonesian Ministry of Education and Culture (Kemendikbud) opened its new term with a discussion with education activists in Indonesia. Article 33 Indonesia, as one of the Ministry of Education and Culture's partners, participated in the discussion held on Friday, November 1 and Tuesday, November 5, 2019, at the Kemendikbud Complex on Jalan Jendral Sudirman, Senayan. The discussion aimed to provide input to the Minister of Education and Culture, Nadiem Makarim, on various important education issues that should be included in the education policy agenda.<\/p>\n
This discussion addressed several educational issues in Indonesia, including issues related to the national exam and the zoning system for new student admissions. Both topics share a common underlying issue: the system. Issues with the national exam system have given rise to a debate over whether to eliminate the exam or improve its administration. Furthermore, the zoning system has also encountered issues, leading to a debate about whether to maintain the existing zoning system or change the existing mechanism.<\/p>\n
Based on these issues, the Ministry of Education and Culture emphasized the need for concrete solutions that can be implemented immediately. Minister Nadiem Makarim focused on the educational system's transformation, specifically the dynamics occurring within the classroom.
