gb-container-8e7c473d\">\n\n<p class=\"gb-headline gb-headline-0b25d65f gb-headline-text\">On 16-17 October 2024, AJSR was held by Mitra Pendidikan Indonesia, together with the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology and the Ministry of Religious Affairs. With the aim of reflecting on how Indonesia can strengthen key aspects of the education ecosystem and accelerate the quality of learning for Indonesian students. Yusuf Faisal Martak from Article 33 Indonesia also attended and participated in presenting the results of his research in AJSR 2024.<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"gb-headline gb-headline-1d4dd0e3 gb-headline-text\">School Participation Rate (APS) at every level in Indonesia has increased every year. Various government efforts have been made to realize this, including incentive mechanisms such as the Education Unit Operational Cost (BOSP) and the Smart Indonesia Program (PIP) which make school fees lower, the construction of new schools close to students&#039; homes, and the PPDB that has been implemented. Unfortunately, the increase has been lower every year (since 2014 to 2023).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"gb-headline gb-headline-1c0cc116 gb-headline-text\"><strong>What causes the School Participation Rate to decrease every year?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"gb-headline gb-headline-88ec6cfb gb-headline-text\">Under normal conditions, <em>incentive mechanism<\/em> can motivate individuals to go to school, but not in the current conditions. One of the main reasons for this condition is the complexity of the problem of Children Not in School that occurs.<br>From various literature, there are problems with children who do not attend school, namely:<br>1. Difficult access to schools<br>2. Expensive school fees<br>3. Awareness of the importance of education is still low<br>4. Other problems such as psychology due to bullying, administrative problems, suboptimal rules, and independent motivation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"gb-headline gb-headline-692bb8b7 gb-headline-text\"><strong>What can be done?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"gb-headline gb-headline-eccd5c13 gb-headline-text\">If each individual has only one problem, maybe the government can solve it according to the problem. What if the problem is not actually standing alone?\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"gb-headline gb-headline-4f2a47f7 gb-headline-text\">Article 33 Indonesia in the Annual Joint Sector Review (AJSR) 2024 tries to introduce a different way to resolve this with a tailor-made approach. In short, <em>tailor-made approach<\/em> is an approach that focuses on the needs of children that may not be captured in recorded problems, but we have various solution packages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"gb-headline gb-headline-4c262036 gb-headline-text\"><strong>As an example of use <em>tailor-made approach:<\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"gb-headline gb-headline-8dbc8c5e gb-headline-text\">In East Java, there are children aged 9 and 11 years who do not attend school (dropped out during PAUD and SD) with the following conditions: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Father has died <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Mother remarried<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The child lives with his grandmother<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Children feel they have learned to be independent<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>From the case study, what is the child&#039;s problem? Is it economic? Psychological? Family?
