This report explores transparency initiatives in the land-based natural resources sector in Indonesia, focusing on the licensing and revenue chains and the role of civil society in promoting accountability. In the context of decentralization and changing global governance constellations, targeted transparency is crucial to creating an effective cycle of action. These transparency initiatives aim to provide relevant and easily accessible information to the public, thereby encouraging active participation in decision-making.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This research identifies the challenges and effectiveness of various transparency initiatives that are already underway in Indonesia, and analyzes the level of transparency and accessibility of data provided by each initiative. By analyzing transparency mechanisms, this report highlights the importance of using data that can be understood and used by the public to demand accountability from governments and companies involved in the natural resources sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The report also provides recommendations for further development of the One Licensing Information (SIP) system by strengthening civil society engagement. Based on these findings, the report aims to provide policymakers, companies, and communities with deeper insights into steps that can be taken to improve transparency and accountability in natural resource management in Indonesia.
