This study explores patterns of corruption in the coal trade chain in Indonesia. Focusing on illegal practices such as illegal mining and violations in coal transportation, the study highlights the need for better handling to reduce the negative impacts on the local economy. This study thus provides an important foundation for understanding how such violations can destroy added value and exacerbate non-compliance in the coal trade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This report is part of a study conducted by Article 33 Indonesia to identify patterns of corruption and violations in the coal trade. Each region has different challenges in managing its natural resources, and this study seeks to provide the most appropriate recommendations based on the local economic and governance conditions of each region. The study also aims to provide relevant recommendations for policymakers to support more transparent and sustainable governance in the coal trade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
