Alamsyah Saragih has more than 25 years of experience in both the public and private sectors. As a local governance specialist at the Initiative For Local Governance Reform (ILGR) -The World Bank, Jakarta, he became the National Coordinator for facilitating the agenda for reforming local governance in terms of local financial reform, procurement reform, formulating poverty reduction strategies in the regions, and local regulations related to transparency, participation and accountability.
Alamsyah also served as the first Chairman of the Indonesian Central Information Commission (2009-2013) and a member of the Indonesian Ombudsman (2016-2021) in charge of economics and finance. After completing his duties at the Indonesian Ombudsman, Alamsyah worked in the private sector as a Governance Advisor at the Indonesian Battery Corporation (IBC), a Subholding that manages strategic investments for the downstream supply chain of the nickel-electric vehicle battery industry. In addition, he is also an independent commissioner at PT Remala Abadi Tbk., a public company in the internet service provider industry with the issuer code DATA.
