Chitra Retna brings over 30 years of expertise in development management, research, and advocacy within the realms of natural resources management, climate and energy. She was the founder of Article 33 Indonesia, and currently serving as the Director/Natural Resource Climate Energy Lead at Article 33 Indonesia. She has leads and supervising projects focused on good governance in the natural resource sector (mining, oil and gas, forestry), climate and energy for over than 15 years. Her expertise includes policy research, stakeholder engagement and advocacy, with a strong knowledge on the grassroot level.
Her previous roles include expert staff of Ministry of State Apparatus Utilization and Bureaucratic Reform, Asia Pacific Senior Regional Associate for NRGI, Deputy Chief of Party for USAID BIJAK and Community Engagement Lead for USAID SEGAR. She holds a PhD candidacy in Economics from the Australian National University and Universitas Padjajaran. She work with many national and international organization such as UNDP, FAO, World Bank, Bappenas, UKP4, and has contributed to various policy improvement and advisory roles in both national and international contexts.
