Urban Futures (UF) is a 5-year (2023–2027) global program that integrates urban food systems, youth well-being, and climate action. The program is managed by Hivos, the Humanist and Social Innovation Foundation (Humanis), the RUAF Global Partnership on Sustainable Urban Agriculture and Food Systems (RUAF-CIC), and local partners, networks, and experts. Urban Futures will operate in 10 cities in Colombia (Cali and Medellin), Ecuador (Manabi and Quito), Indonesia (Bandung and West Manggarai), Zambia (Chongwe and Kitwe), and Zimbabwe (Bulawayo and Mutare). These intermediary cities vary in size but share commonalities: they are rapidly developing, connecting metropolitan and rural areas or different clusters of cities within an urban system, and managing the flow of people, goods, capital, information, and knowledge. Each of these cities presents distinct challenges and opportunities.
PESPA or Youth for the Food System of Bandung City, is a consortium consisting of Article 33 Indonesia as the lead, together with Sinergantara, IATL ITB (ITB Environmental Engineering Alumni Association) and the Center for Regulation Policy and Governance (CRPG).
