This study explores the urgency of implementing Benefit Sharing Mechanism (BSM) in the forestry sector in Indonesia. Focusing on policy and funding aspects, this study highlights the importance of providing a regulatory framework that supports the implementation of BSM effectively and inclusively. This study provides an important foundation for understanding how this mechanism can provide benefits to local communities and support sustainable forestry resource management.
This report is part of a study prepared by Article 33 Indonesia to identify strategic issues related to BSM implementation in the forestry sector. Through an analysis of existing policy gaps, this study aims to formulate relevant recommendations, including funding mechanisms that can strengthen BSM implementation at the national and local levels.
