Knowledge Sector Initiative: Alliance of research institutions for research excellent

On January 26 and 27 2017, at the Novotel Bogor Hotel, a KSI meeting was held with 16 partner institutions commonly called Policy Research Institute (PRI). Article 33 Indonesia is one of the PRI partner members. This event is a follow-up to a similar event which was previously held in Kuningan, West Java. At the meeting the results were discussed review towards PRI partners regarding institutional management, quality of research results and researchers, networks, and proposals for forming alliances.

The formation of the alliance, the idea of which emerged at the meeting in Kuningan, was carried out to encourage cooperation between PRI institutions which was at least aimed at improving the quality of research results and encouraging the use of research results for policy development. How the alliance will be run, what activities will be carried out, is still under discussion. In the short term, several institutions have proposed writing activities in journals and training on line research ethics, and within a certain scope joint research between several alliance member institutions.

In the future, of course, this inter-institutional collaboration will not only be aimed at improving the quality of research, but also increasing the alliance's bargaining position with both central and regional governments in policy development.
