This study explores the implementation of the PPDB system in Indonesia with a focus on the achievement pathway in DKI Jakarta in 2020. This study highlights the importance of analyzing indicators and formulations used to identify weaknesses and provide input in the implementation of PPDB in the following year. By highlighting the academic and non-academic achievement pathways, this study provides an important basis for improving student admission governance to be more inclusive and optimal.

This report is part of an evaluation effort involving simulation of a new formulation to measure its effectiveness and impact on more equitable access to education. This study aims to provide concrete recommendations for regional and national policies, especially in supporting the implementation of a more transparent, fair, and accountable PPDB system.

This research report is included in a series of studies “Evaluation of the 2020 DKI Jakarta Achievement Pathway PPDB” which explores the impact analysis of zoning policies and other selection pathways on equal access to education.
