It is believed that a close partnership between Vocational High Schools (SMK) and Industry and the World of Work (IDUKA) can increase the employment of vocational school graduates. However, establishing a vocational school partnership with IDUKA is not an easy matter, amidst the lack of understanding that both parties need each other. Vocational schools need IDUKA to obtain the latest technological information and work practices. Likewise, Iduka needs vocational schools to prepare skilled and work-ready workers.
Article Tiga Tiga Indonesia has attempted to encourage vocational school partnerships with IDUKA by facilitating the signing of a memorandum of understanding between three private vocational schools and DPP APINDO Central Java. The three vocational schools are SMK Maarif NU Kudus, SMK Muhammadiyah Salam 2 Cepu and SMK Muhammadiyah 1 Magelang. The MOU signing was held at Maarif Vocational School in Kudus Regency at the beginning of last Ramadhan, April 6 2022 to be precise. The MOU signing activity was attended directly by the chairman of the Central Java APINDO DPP,
Mr. Frans with the Secretary General, Head of the Three Vocational Schools, representatives of Article Tiga TIga Indonesia and PATTIRO Semarang.
The purpose of signing this MOU is that the APINDO Central Java DPP is committed to facilitating vocational school cooperation with business actors under APINDO Central Java.
The activity of signing the MOU in the holy month of Ramadhan has an important meaning and is the beginning of realizing a close partnership between SMK and IDUKA in Central Java in the future. With this understanding, it is hoped that there will be no more stigma from Iduka towards SMK which often becomes an obstacle to collaboration between SMK and IDUKA.
