Bridge Village Development with Regency Government.

SEKAYU, Beritamuba – Article 33 Indonesia, in collaboration with FITRA Sumsel, held a focused discussion forum that brought together the Musi Banyuasin Regency Government with mining-affected village officials at the Ranggonang Hotel, Thursday (28/1).

This focused discussion forum aims to formulate and identify development programs and potential for mining-affected villages according to the priority needs of the village community as well as agreeing on programs for fiscal gaps and other resources available in the village to be further encouraged in the Muba Regency Government development program.

Hadi Prayidyo as a researcher at Article 33 Indonesia, wants to bridge village development based on the resources and authority that are now owned by the village together with the district government.

"Returning the benefits obtained from mining potential directly to producing and mining-affected areas and villages in the context of equal distribution of income and distribution of natural resource benefits in accordance with the ideals of Article 33 of the 1945 Constitution," said Hadi.

Meanwhile, Herman, a representative from BLHPP Muba, said that in village development, the Muba Regency Government had issued a fund allocation program of 1 billion per village which had been running for 4 years. The aim is to equalize development in all villages in the Muba Regency area. Therefore, producing villages and villages affected by mining must use profit sharing funds wisely and carefully in accordance with applicable regulations.

The focused discussion forum invited several related SKPDs, Fitra Sumsel, SDA Watch Sumsel, as well as 14 mining producing village officials and affected villages in Muba Regency.

At the end of the discussion, each village head filled out a questionnaire aimed at gathering input related to identifying village development potential and strategies in the mining area.
