JawaPos.com – The gradually improving national economy must be supported by regional government efforts to restore the regional economy after being hit by the Covid-19 pandemic. Innovation for business actors is the key to maintaining their business.

The Governor of West Nusa Tenggara, Zulkieflimansyah, explained that his party does not distribute social safety nets in the form of cash assistance, but by developing locally made products. In this case, the NTB Provincial Government gives MSMEs the opportunity to make products and buy them by the government, then distribute them to the community.

“There is an opportunity for us to use local products. "Finally, even though it is still in embryonic form, now NTB is moving away from traditional commodities, but the processing industry is starting to be introduced," said Zulkieflimansyah in a webinar, Friday (19/11).

According to him, his party invites people to produce innovative products in developing a business that has a higher selling value. One of them, perishable fishery products can last a long time if technology is used.

“Fish is not only sold raw because its value becomes low if it is rotten. Tried with simple technology, dried, preserved. "So it has a longer shelf life, the same goes for other products," he said.

The NTB Provincial Government's efforts to optimize MSMEs start from increasing the self-confidence of MSMEs themselves. So, later local products can become our own pride. “For example, local weaving, moringa and the supplements produced. "Currently there are 5,000 MSMEs involved in the brilliant safety net process," he said.

Zulkieflimansyah continued, another innovation after the social safety net was completed was to provide incentives to the agricultural industry. "In the future, to provide sustainable and higher quality economic growth, we choose industrialization as an option," he added.
